hello hello
the thing is to create a cover for a sientific-literatural book with the topic water. these are the first sketches. i tried to keep it general, because the book reflects on different cultures and textes. give me some critics, i am kind of stuck here… thanx and love from berlin

hmmm… i like a lot of them actually, just because they’re so simple. the last two ones aren’t really my style. even though you put water on the brown one (you did, right?), you can’t really see it. and the lake… hmm, looks like an depressing photo book. the first and the second one are nice, but i think very cliché – basically what you think of first. the fourth one is nice because you worked with big type for a change and the symbolism of the water is very subtle. my absolute favourite is the pool poster though, i think. it’s a very nice idea playing with the color of the cover, maybe you could do some variations on that…

Hey Jan,
I think Sebastian is right on a lot of the comments he made, and my favorite is also nr. 3 but I want to see it done in different ways, I think you’re onto something there – good concept. The others (except for nr. 1 maybe – makes me think too much of the sea – though thats of course water as well I guess) I also think are good but not quite as good as the pool one.
Good luck with it

number 3 is my favourite as well but i think its may be to obvious… not sure. i do like it! like also the fifth one cause of its dry appearance.
as kari said try some variations with the pool one..
feel the love feel the water… take a bath.
