Ok, the name is more or less final. Maybe I’ll do something with the four names on the far right of the first picture, but I’m not sure yet. The logo’s really giving me hard time. Don’t know if I should use just type, something like with the spilt white over the type or something completely different, like a real logo with little or no type at all (for example a tipped over milk carton). Suggestions, comments, help! Please…

Generally I think the name is really cool. Actually, not only generally – it just is cool! hehe… Out of the four alternatives you also suggested, I wuite like the twist of the last two (bottom two). The somehow have similar connotations as “spilt milk”, however, they have that bureaucratic feel to them as well, which forms a nice juxtaposition.
Graphically speaking, I think you have to bring that ‘funkyness’ into it, in form of a typographical twist or something. That’s why I think the first row (of the first pic) is not suitable – too boring. Secondly I am really not sure about the cross, I really, really don’t like it. But that’s more of a personal thing I think. What’s the purpose? I quite like the bottom serif and squiggle of the the ‘k’ below the baseline (top row, second from left, first pic), but I am not sure of the square serifs of the other characters. May be if you incorporate something like that in a rounded font (like the one you used for very bottom on the very left, first pic), but that could be too playful –not sure. Filling the counters I quite like as well. Generally, I think a bold font works much better than a regular one.
Logos in second pic: works better! I like the idea of connecting the characters vertically. You kept connecting ‘i’ &’l’. May be try to connect the ‘i’ or/and ‘l’ in both. (Know what I mean? So that the ‘i’ in ’spilt’ connects with the ‘i’ in milk.) Yes, I know it has been done before and is not the most exciting thing, but might work really well here… For the cross, same applies as I mentioned above. With milk being spilt over the type as in the last two of both rows on the right… Not sure. It looks more like a old faded sign – grunge look. But I like the idea. May be have the loge, or just one character, look as if it was spilt milk. I really like the full stop in the 0ne on the bottom row, first one from left. And how you connected the characters in the loge on the bottom row on the very right. It has a ‘constructivist” feel, very Russian –really cool!
Ok, so much for the typographic solution for the logo. For anything graphic… mmmh, quite difficult to comment on. Just a milk carton might be a little flat and too direct. But i can’ think of anything better at the moment. A cereal bowl may be, but that just as flat… Or one of those little milk containers (I think there’s actually cream in them), you know that you get with your coffee in airplanes. Just a bit more interesting. Coming to think of it, do they still exist? Haven’t seen them in a while…

Well, sorry for talking a lot of useless crap… Got carried away again… Hope you can filter a little sense out of my verbal diarrhoea!

ok, wouw. long comment! so here’s my comment-comments:

as for the name, the ones on the far right are just supposed to be aliases/code names for the actual organization ’spilt milk’. and the cross: those are actually the ones i already sorted out as being not good enough. sorry forgot to mention that. and the first pic are also just tryouts for finding a font for the logo, not really logo-designs itself. anyways…

you’re right in a lot of ways about the second pic. i will try and connect the two i’s. also true what you said about the grungy look – that’s also what i’m having troubles with, looks too emo-bandish. and about having just one character or the logo look like spilt milk… hmmm dunno… think that would be too obvious.

and with the graphic ideas: yupp it’s really hard trying to find something that’s now that obvious but still delivers the message/idea. maybe i’ll just stick to typographical solutions. we’ll see.

    merci vielmal for the feedback!

i also like the vertically connected ones and if you are not goimg further I let the letters drop a little if you what i mean. anyway the connection is nice.
also like second pic, first row, third pic: like the way the “k” spills there.

and for logo stuff. i could think of huge white spilt milk spots. sticking them all over the city. on the streets, on the wall (running down). and somewhere little on “spilt milk”.
the comment is quite short but most things are already said. greetz from downtown nürnberg!!
