An update on the Font Design. After some talks with my teacher, we decided it’s best I start from scratch again as I hadn’t really sketched different designs in the beginning but just ‘drawn’ a more or less final style of letters. So here we go: the letters I was supposed to start out with – a, b, d, e, n, p. Tried out different things, not sure yet which direction exactly it’s going to be headin’. I’ve circled my favorites with a light pencil line, hope you can see it.

a= first row second circled, like the static appearance / second row first circiled, like the rounded serif. may be you could bring this rounded bit into the first one.
sorry cant say it in english: vielleicht solltest du versuchen den bauch bißchen unterhalb der grundlinie zu ziehen.
b= first row second circled and third row first b
d= first row fourth d and third row the fourth one as well
e= first row third e also the sixth, last row the fifth but a bit to close togehter.
n= first cirled and third cirled
p= dont like the second circled but the third circled is relly nice. the next one looks a bit like upsidedown d.
there are really nice ones but still very diffrent.
the line thickness could have a bit more contrast.
like the second circled “a” that contrast is very nice.
it looks like you prefer the straight lines but you made some cool rounded ones as well. for example the third “d” first row or the last “e” first row.
That seems to be a really tough task to me. Good luck
Hope thats helpful. its hard to criticise.
last thing. still pay attention that you dont have to much up and down.

wowowow! very detailed feedback – thanks a lot man! i’ll see what i can do. you’re right, i also like the round ones, but i’m really trying to make something that looks a bit more like an old-style fracture. you’re also right about the contrast, noticed that myself even when drawing, was just somehow unable to change it… and the up and down, well… i like a little up and down here and there
